It’s Election Day: Your Voice Matters. Vote Today!

November 4, 2025 · by johntarheel76

To Our Community:

Today is Election Day. The decisions made at the ballot box—from national leadership to critical local issues, like your schools, roads, and community services—will shape the future of our city, state, and nation.

This is your moment to be heard.

Your vote is the cornerstone of our democracy, and every single ballot cast contributes to the collective voice of our community.

Quick Checklist: Have You Voted?

  • Polls are Open: Ensure you know the operating hours for your specific polling location.
  • Find Your Polling Place: If you are voting in person, confirm your assigned polling site. You can usually find this information on your state or local Board of Elections website.
  • Know Your ID Requirements: Have your required identification ready (if applicable in your state) to ensure a smooth check-in process.
  • Vote Your Mail-In or Absentee Ballot: If you are voting by mail and still have your ballot, make sure you know the official drop-off locations and deadlines. Do not rely on mail delivery today—use an official drop-box or election office.

Help Your Neighbors Vote

If you’ve already cast your ballot, consider helping others exercise their right:

  • Offer a Ride: Check on friends, family, or neighbors who may need transportation to the polls.
  • Provide Information: Direct anyone with questions about where or how to vote to official, trusted resources (like your local election website).

Democracy is not a spectator sport. It is a shared responsibility.

Thank you for your participation and for helping to make your voice heard today.

Need to check your polling place or get official election information?

Please visit your local Board of Elections website or the non-partisan national resource VOTE411 for assistance.

Autumn’s Arrival: How a New Season Impacts the Housing Market

September 23, 2025 · by johntarheel76

As autumn begins to paint the landscape with vibrant colors, it also signals a shift in the real estate market. In areas that experience a true change of seasons, the fall market is often a fantastic time for both buyers and sellers. Sellers can take advantage of the beautiful curb appeal that comes with fall foliage and cozy seasonal decor, making their homes feel warm and inviting. For buyers, the intense competition of the spring and summer market may begin to cool, offering more opportunities and less pressure to make a quick decision. Many buyers are highly motivated to find a new home before the holiday season arrives, making fall a time of serious, focused activity.

Meanwhile, in warmer states where the weather remains pleasant year-round, the start of autumn often marks the beginning of the busiest real estate season. The cooler, more comfortable temperatures make it an ideal time for home tours, open houses, and outdoor inspections. This is also a peak time for “snowbirds” and buyers from colder climates to visit and shop for a second home or a new primary residence. Whether you’re in a place with changing leaves or consistent sunshine, the start of autumn brings a unique energy to the housing market. It’s a perfect time to connect with a real estate professional to understand how the season’s trends can work to your advantage.

Laundry Day Conquered: Tips for a Smoother Wash

February 27, 2025 · by johntarheel76

Laundry day can often feel like a daunting chore, but with a few simple tips and tricks, you can streamline the process and make it more manageable. Start by sorting your laundry efficiently. Separate lights from darks, whites from colors, and delicates from heavier fabrics. This will prevent colors from bleeding and ensure that each garment is washed with the appropriate care. Before tossing clothes in the washing machine, check pockets for any forgotten items like tissues, pens, or keys. These can cause damage to your washing machine and your clothes.

To maximize efficiency, consider washing full loads whenever possible. However, avoid overloading the machine, as this can prevent clothes from getting properly cleaned. Utilize the correct water temperature for each load. Cold water is generally suitable for most fabrics, while warm or hot water is recommended for heavily soiled items or whites. Finally, don’t forget to clean your washing machine regularly to prevent the buildup of detergent residue and mildew.

Labor Day Plans. Ask now!

August 3, 2019 · by Bob McCranie

Hey, everyone. It’s Bob McCranie with Texas Pride Realty and your Realty Idea of the Day is Labor Day plans. Now, we’re still a good month away from Labor Day, but you know the month is gonna speed by, so why not go out and talk about, “Hey, remember what I did last year for Labor Day and how fun it was?” Or ask your sphere, better yet, ask a question, “What are your plans for Labor Day? Have you thought about them? Have you made your reservations?” People love to talk about themselves. Maybe you can ask, “Hey, I’m not sure what to do for Labor Day, where would you go? What have you done before?” Get them to post their travel pictures. Get them to talk about themselves, interact. So this could be a great post that you could do on Facebook, maybe Instagram, maybe Pinterest. What are your vacation photos and where have you gone on Labor Day that have been amazing? So let’s start planning about it. Let’s start talking about Labor Day. What does Labor Day mean to people? Maybe it means something different for different people, you know? So start talking about that. Basically, this could be a great travel log post of any sort, picture-oriented and whoever gives you the best suggestion wins something, a Starbucks card. Talk to you later, Bob McCranie. Realty Ideas per Day.

Volunteering

November 21, 2018 · by Bob McCranie

Hey, everyone. It’s Bob McCranie, with Texas Pride Realty.

And your realty idea of the day, is volunteering at seniors centers. Now this is when I talk about a couple times through out the year. We’re coming up on the holidays, seniors are lonely. They don’t have family around sometimes. Maybe they’re not going to see their family during the holidays. Maybe they’re alone.

So go volunteer at a seniors center and maybe take 5 or 20 people from your office there as well. And it doesn’t have to be like, you can go to a senior care facility, but you can also go to the city. Most municipalities now have seniors centers that people go to as a day thing. And you can go there and just kind of help serve lunch, and sit among the ladies and the gentleman, and play cards or whatever. Just have a day where you go volunteer there and go meet people and just say hi.

So seniors centers at the holidays, critical time. Holidays are a time of much joy, they can also be a time of much depression. Go to the seniors centers, help out somebody. Bob McCranie, realty ideas per day. By the way, post on your social where all the seniors centers are. Get more people to come with you. Bye-bye.

Trick or Treat Driving

October 30, 2018 · by Bob McCranie

Now is a great time to remind people that small kids will be out in big costumes focused on candy.  They won’t be looking both ways and drivers need to be more alert.

Candy Corn!

October 24, 2018 · by Bob McCranie

This is Bob McCranie with Texas Pride Realty and your Realty Idea of the Day is candy corn. Now, I never realized what a national crisis would ensue when I let people know that I love candy corn because apparently, some people just can’t stand it. Candy corn is amazing, I love it but… So put it out to your group and your sphere on Facebook or on whatever social media you want to. Do you like candy corn, or do you hate it? You will find people are one way or the other, they’re not both. So get in the middle of that. It’s kinda like the Coke and Pepsi challenge. Some people love Coke, some people love…very few people love Pepsi, let’s be honest. So let’s talk about candy corn. Let’s talk about what candy during the Halloween holiday can you just not go without, every Halloween you gotta have it. So anyway, candy, candy corn, Halloween. Let’s talk about that, let’s have some Facebook polls. And we’ll see what we want for our trick or treat bags this year. Take care. Bye-bye.

Homecoming Season

September 13, 2018 · by Bob McCranie

Hey everyone, it’s Bob McCranie with Texas Pride Realty, and your realty idea of the day is homecoming season. Now, I won’t tell you how long it’s been since I was in high school, but here in Texas when it’s homecoming season, all the girls wear these huge mums and you would think they’d be this size. No, they’re like the size of the front of a Buick. So mums are an important culture item down here. What’s an important culture item for homecoming where you’re at? You obviously have the homecoming game, the homecoming dance. What is it about high school and homecoming that you could talk about?

You also might put out a little schedule about where all the homecomings are for each high school, so people know which weekend, which high school is going to have their big parade and their big event. So you can also talk about teen drinking. You can also talk about being a responsible community member, and doing things for the high school. So, anyway, find a way to talk about high schools, education in your area, homecoming and celebrating what these kids are going through. So, anyway, Bob McCranie, Texas Pride Realty, Class of ’85. Take care. Bye-bye.

Insurance Issues

September 8, 2018 · by Bob McCranie

Hey, everybody, it’s Bob McCranie with Texas Pride Realty. And your realty idea of the day is homeowners insurance. I can’t talk. Homeowners insurance is an important thing. So in Texas, and this is where I want you to have an insurance person be on your video with you or interview an insurance person for this one. In Texas, there’s an A policy and a B policy. A policy is what we’re all used to. Your home is insured for everything except for acts of war. Policy B is you’re insured for fire, theft, and tornadoes. You’re not insured for anything else. So here we have an inclusive policy, that’s the policy A, and an exclusive policy, which is policy B. I would want to have an insurance guy talking about this because he’s gonna know more than me and I would sit through and interview them and then send it out to my sphere and send it on my social media and advertise for both of us. Talk to your insurance people, ask them what the best sort of policy is, make some videos about it, post it to social media, be the informed person in your circle. Take care. Bye-bye.

Autumn Leaves

September 4, 2018 · by Bob McCranie

Hey, everyone, it’s Bob McCranie with Texas Pride Realty and your realty idea of the day is autumn leaves. Now, if you live in the New England area or you live up on the northern part of the country, your autumn leaves are probably starting about now, so you should probably get out there and tell people where they should go and watch the autumn leaves, where’s the best place to get those vantage shots of the wide field of colors or the mountain ranges changing.

I live in Texas, so we’re gonna get a week and a half of autumn leaves and then they’ll be done. So, we won’t know exactly when that’s gonna hit. Probably it’ll be in October, but now’s the time to start posting about the change of season. Start talking about where in your area they can see natural beauty. Out here we have an arboretum that does a really great fall show, but you wanna get to it early because if you go a little later in the season, the fall show’s kind of peaked.

So, anyway, start talking about autumn leaves on your social media. Post pictures. Tell people where to go to get those great shots of their family.
