Autumn Begins

September 22, 2018 · by Bob McCranie

Hey everyone. It’s Bob McCranie with Texas Pride Realty, and your realty idea of the day is Autumn Begins. If I timed this right today is the first day of Autumn. So let’s talk about how the summer went for us, let’s talk about the change of season, let’s talk about the things we need to do to get our home ready or get our yard ready for the change of season, let’s talk about what Autumn means to us. And then let’s invite people to talk back, let’s ask questions. Any of those things I just said could be turned into a question: What was your best part of the summer? What’s your hope for the Autumn? What are you looking forward to most in the new season? These are things that can be picture posts, they can be text posts, they can be across almost every social media, and frankly I think that there’s a lot of smaller social medias that aren’t being explored. So you can ask this on Pinterest, you can ask this on Nextdoor and not be seen as marketing. So ask questions, let’s get some dialogue going, and the subject of the day is Autumn.

Halloween Decor

September 21, 2018 · by Bob McCranie

Hey everyone, It’s Bob McCranie with Texas Pride Realty. And your Realty Idea of the Day is Halloween stuff.

So the other day I posted about Christmas decor. Today we’re going to talk about Halloween decor. And I know Halloween comes before Christmas, but one is more important than the other, but actually, they’re both really important. Halloween is an amazingly fun holiday if you make it such. All the stores will have out all the yard art, all the stuff that you can do, the projections on your house, the different swirly patterns and scary stuff too. So one, start thinking about where the best neighborhoods are to see decorations. Two, go to the store, find those decorations, show people where they are in your area so they can go get them. Three, maybe do a video at night going around to the houses in your neighborhood and maybe post this on next door. Post this on Facebook if you have a community page, go around and tell people about the great houses and the great decor in your neighborhood and where to find it. Be the social media leader in your neighborhood.

Bob McCranie, realty ideas per day. There’ll be another Realty Idea of the Day posted tomorrow. Bye-bye.

Traffic

September 20, 2018 · by Bob McCranie

Hey, everybody. It’s Bob McCranie with Texas Pride Realty, and if you know Dallas, you know traffic. So let’s talk about traffic in your city. What are people moving to your area need to know about traffic? What do they need to know about the roads? What do they need to know about the tollways? If you’re moving to Dallas-Fort Worth area, you need to know that we don’t have public transportation that’s worth anything. So you are going to be in a car and everybody here drives which kind of sucks because I wish we were more of a walking community. But in your area, if you’re moving to like the East Coast and you’re in Washington, D.C. or New York, you may be a walking community and traffic may not be something that you deal with on that level. But if you’re going further than the subway, you may need to take a car. So let’s talk about traffic in our area, which highways are available, which roads are tollways, and what it’s like to be you and drive. Maybe you get a GoPro, put it in your car. Post all this to social media, talk about traffic in your area. Take care. Bye-bye.

Yom Kippur

September 18, 2018 · by Bob McCranie

Hey, everyone, I just want to wish you a Happy Yom Kippur, and if this is not a holiday you know about, let’s go find out about it because it’s today.

So, we wanna recognize people of all faiths and cultures in our community, and we want to be open to everyone. So on your social media, I’m gonna urge you to celebrate not just the holidays you celebrate but celebrate the holidays you’ve never even heard of or maybe the holidays that you’ve heard of and you don’t know that much about. Be open to everyone and be a resource to your community.

So, Happy Yom Kippur to my Jewish friends, and there’ll be another realty idea of the day posted tomorrow. Bye-bye.

Senior Centers

September 16, 2018 · by Bob McCranie
Hey everyone. It’s Bob McCranie with Texas Pride Realty, and your realty idea of the day is very near and dear to my heart, senior centers. Okay. So a lot of cities in my area have their own senior facility. These are places that people can go during the day. They have activities, they have community centers, they are places that people can hang out in the heat and in the cold when their home may not be well insulated or well taken care of, they can go to these places and be safe and a lot of the times they can get a meal. So, find the senior centers in your area, find whatever’s available for seniors in your area. You might not just find the municipal ones, you also might find the ones that are private. Maybe there’s senior living facilities that you could talk about and places that mom and grandma could go to. So, find out about seniors in your area, be a source for that because you know what, seniors need to sell their houses and people who are caring for seniors need to have support. So, Bob McCranie, Texas Pride Realty. Bye-bye.

Christmas Decor

September 14, 2018 · by Bob McCranie

Hey, everyone.  I know it seems a little early, but it’s not. It’s Christmas decor time. So if you decorate for the holidays like I do, I put up five Christmas trees. It’s a crime. I’m sorry. I do. Five Christmas trees. And my decorations go up the day after Thanksgiving, some of them go up early.

Now is the time to go hit the home and garden stores and figure out what holiday decor you want before everybody else that goes and buys it. Get out there now and find it and have it and you’ll have the best yard, it’ll be amazing. What is that, Christmas vacation? Yeah, you want to have that amazing yard. You also want to start talking about where people decorate a lot so that people…that would be another realty idea later, but look surprised when you see it. So go out to Home Depot, go to Lowe’s, go on Amazon, find the decor you want and put it out there. Tell everybody, “Hey everybody. I’m at these stores. Here’s what they have now. Go get it.” I know Halloween isn’t here yet. Go get it now.

Talk to you tomorrow. Bye.

Homecoming Season

September 13, 2018 · by Bob McCranie

Hey everyone, it’s Bob McCranie with Texas Pride Realty, and your realty idea of the day is homecoming season. Now, I won’t tell you how long it’s been since I was in high school, but here in Texas when it’s homecoming season, all the girls wear these huge mums and you would think they’d be this size. No, they’re like the size of the front of a Buick. So mums are an important culture item down here. What’s an important culture item for homecoming where you’re at? You obviously have the homecoming game, the homecoming dance. What is it about high school and homecoming that you could talk about?

You also might put out a little schedule about where all the homecomings are for each high school, so people know which weekend, which high school is going to have their big parade and their big event. So you can also talk about teen drinking. You can also talk about being a responsible community member, and doing things for the high school. So, anyway, find a way to talk about high schools, education in your area, homecoming and celebrating what these kids are going through. So, anyway, Bob McCranie, Texas Pride Realty, Class of ’85. Take care. Bye-bye.

Home & Garden Shows

September 12, 2018 · by Bob McCranie
Hey, everyone. It’s Bob McCranie with Texas Pride Realty, and your realty idea of the day is when we hit on in the spring and in the fall, home and garden shows. Now, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, there are probably four home and garden shows throughout the year that people can go to. There’s usually 200 or 300 vendors there and they are doing everything from patios to roofing, to windows, to hot tubs we talked about the other day, to landscaping, to anything related to a home. Some people are doing things not related to homes like insurance policies and legal systems, the legal aid things. Anyway, go to these shows, take a thousand pictures and post them everywhere. Talk about each of the vendors. Maybe do a little video interview with each of the vendors. For the people who can’t get to the home and garden show, it’s a great way for you to bring it to them and for you to have a registered list of experts who can help with any facet of home improvement. And it’s a great way to get seen by people and then you can ask, “Hey, out of all these vendors, which one would you want for your home?” Anyway, put it all out there on your social. Talk to you tomorrow. Bye-bye.

Nine Eleven

September 11, 2018 · by Bob McCranie

Hey, everyone, it’s Bob McCranie with Texas Pride Realty. And today’s realty idea is gonna be very somber, 9/11. It’s interesting to me there are some people who were not old enough to remember 9/11 now. And for those of us who lived through it, it’s marked in our brains. So, maybe we talk today very quietly about the memorial. Maybe we talk today about what it meant to us and then we stay pretty much quiet the rest of the day and just listen. And that may be what we put on our social media is just a question. What does 9/11 mean to you? And see what the response is and then don’t really judge any responses, just say, “Thank you for the response,” build that connection. But today would be a day that I’m quiet and I will listen to what other people post on my thread and then tomorrow I will be much more active. So, take care. Have a great day. Keep safe.

Hot Tubs

September 10, 2018 · by Bob McCranie

Hey everybody. It’s Bob McCranie with Texas Pride Realty, and your realty idea of the day is hot tubs. Now, hot tubs have a lot of different varieties. There are some that are inexpensive, there are some that have jets all over the place, they have lighting, they have music, they have a pop-up TV. Hot tubs are an affordable way to have a water feature, basically, in your back yard without having to dig a pool. So go to the hot tub store, take some pictures, take some video, show the different models and the different price points. Now in Texas, in Dallas we have the Home and Garden Show which about 17 spa companies come to, so it’s easy to get a lot of these pictures. But if you don’t have that, run to one of the stores around you and talk about hot tubs. It’s something that you would not imagine how many people are interested in and also you can talk about hot tub maintenance. Now on mine I know that during the summer I drain it because I don’t keep it running during the…it’s 110 degrees so why do I need a hot tub? But be sure you drain it so it doesn’t become a mosquito haven. Anyway, Bob McCranie, Texas Pride Realty. There’ll be another realty idea of the day posted tomorrow. Bye-bye.
